The Army spends an incredible amount of time and resources training Soldiers, and they can only know a small fraction of the body of knowledge that makes up Army operations. Let’s use augmented reality to provide real-time training to augment Soldiers knowledge in emergency situations. When a Soldier is confronted with a situation for which he has not been trained, he can use the augmented reality to show him how to do it. AR Glasses and voice instruction can show where to cut during and appendectomy or how to treat a severed limp. It could show how to operate a mortar or set the headspace on a machine gun. Do you need help repairing the drone or replacing the glow plugs?
The content could be provided by on call experts or Artificial Intelligence. Using deep learning algorithms, the system could learn from proficient Soldiers to teach the less skilled ones.
This is a technology currently available to the civilian workforce. The Army could use it and should be involved in its maturation.Add Improvement
It provides a reservoir of knowledge that will allow Soldiers to function at a diminished capacity during emergencies. It would also be a valuable training tool that would allow any Soldier to attain proficiency in whatever skill desired.Add Improvement
